Is this to remind me that the cigarette prices went up by 6% yesterday?
It is a strange symbol for cigarettes. Does it represent a warning or some kind of killer object?
perhaps they emit some invisible puffs of subliminal interplanetary haze to engulf strickened smokers and induce frenzied nicotine cravings... but then again they can get that by just walking by another smoker!
a good topic for you, Adam, to investigate - all these odd symbolic objects dotting the urban landscape that have been around so long that people forget their origins!
